Bei einer\u00a0Container-Verschiffung mit zwei Fahrzeugen\u00a0\u00fcber Overlander Shipping m\u00fcssen\u00a0beide Parteien 1.000 \u20ac \u00fcberweisen. Dieser Betrag dient als\u00a0Sicherheitsleistung, falls eine der beiden Parteien von der Buchung zur\u00fccktritt. Caravan Shippers was unable to offer transport insurance for a shipment from Colombia - something they communicated to us transparently in advance. Overlander Shipping, on the other hand, did offer an insurance option, which was a crucial factor for us.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These two reasons led us to choose Overlander Shipping this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prepare the camper for shipping<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Da wir unseren\u00a0Camper im Container verschiffen, war die Vorbereitung relativ unkompliziert. Trotzdem gibt es ein paar Punkte, die du unbedingt beachten solltest:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Clean the vehicle exterior<\/strong>&nbsp;- The camper should be clean to avoid any issues during shipping<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Secure the interior<\/strong>&nbsp;- Stow and fasten all items properly so nothing gets damaged during the sea voyage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Empty gas bottles<\/strong>&nbsp;- Gas bottles must be empty; you may even need a certificate to prove it <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fuel tank no more than a quarter full<\/strong>&nbsp;- No one checked this in our case, but it is a regulation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Important note about food:<\/strong> Lass\u00a0keine Lebensmittel\u00a0im Fahrzeug zur\u00fcck, auch wenn es verlockend sein mag beispielsweise\u00a0Kaffee oder Schokolade mitzunehmen. W\u00e4hrend du im Flugzeug bestimmte\u00a0Freimengen\u00a0mitnehmen darfst, m\u00fcssten Lebensmittel bei Einfuhr im Container bei Ankunft in Deutschland verzollt werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delivering the Camper to the Port - Our Experience in Cartagena<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unsere gesamte Kommunikation zur Verschiffung in\u00a0Cartagena\u00a0lief \u00fcber unsere\u00a0Verschiffungsagentin Anna, deren Kontakt wir von\u00a0Overlander Shipping\u00a0erhalten haben. Von Anna bekommen wir alle wichtigen Informationen zur\u00a0Anlieferung im Hafen\u00a0und zum\u00a0Ablauf vor Ort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delivery at the port<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gemeinsam mit unseren\u00a0Containerbuddies\u00a0bringen wir die beiden\u00a0Puchs\u00a0zum vereinbarten Termin in den Hafen. Dort erwartete uns ein Mitarbeiter von Anna, der uns den weiteren Ablauf erkl\u00e4rte. Leider spricht er nur Spanisch, aber wir kommen zurecht. F\u00fcr den Hafen gelten die folgenden Kleidervorschriften: lange Hose, langes Hemd und geschlossene Schuhe. Vor Ort erhalten wir zus\u00e4tzlich\u00a0einen Helm\u00a0und\u00a0eine Sicherheitsweste. Zutritt zum Hafengel\u00e4nde haben\u00a0nur die Fahrzeugbesitzer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Annas Mitarbeiter meldete uns an, und wir d\u00fcrfen mit den Fahrzeugen ins Hafengel\u00e4nde fahren. Dort holt uns ein Zollmitarbeiter ab und erkl\u00e4rt, wo die Fahrzeuge geparkt werden sollen. Anschlie\u00dfend f\u00fcllten wir ein Formular aus und gaben die\u00a0Fahrzeugschl\u00fcssel\u00a0ab. Die Fahrzeuge blieben\u00a0\u00fcber Nacht im Hafen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Police and drug inspection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Am n\u00e4chsten Morgen beginnt der zweite Teil der Verladung. Der gleiche Z\u00f6llner bringt uns wieder zu unseren Fahrzeugen. F\u00fcr die Polizei- und Drogenkontrolle m\u00fcssen alle Boxen und Stauf\u00e4cher\u00a0ge\u00f6ffnet werden und zug\u00e4nglich sein. Gr\u00f6\u00dfere Gegenst\u00e4nde m\u00fcssen wir aus dem Fahrzeug r\u00e4umen.  Es ist gut, daf\u00fcr eine\u00a0Plane\u00a0zum Zwischenlagern dabeizuhaben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our inspection was fairly straightforward: no drug-sniffing dogs, just a quick glance into some boxes. However, we know from other travelers that the inspections can vary greatly. Afterward, we were able to pack and secure everything again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Loading the container<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sobald der Container bereitsteht, k\u00f6nnen wir unsere Fahrzeuge, wie auch bereits bei der Verschiffung nach Uruguay, selbst in den Container fahren. Zur Sicherung werden\u00a0Holzbl\u00f6cke\u00a0hinter die R\u00e4der genagelt und\u00a0Spanngurte\u00a0angebracht. Die Batterie\u00a0muss abgeklemmt werden und die\u00a0Fahrzeugschl\u00fcssel\u00a0bleiben bei der \u00dcberfahrt im Z\u00fcndschloss stecken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bevor der Container verschlossen werden kann, m\u00fcssen wir noch auf einen Polizeibeamten warten, der die\u00a0Schlie\u00dfung und Versiegelung\u00a0des Containers \u00fcberwacht. Das\u00a0 angebrachte Siegel wird erst bei der\u00a0Abholung in Hamburg\u00a0vor unseren Augen entfernt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Documentation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sowohl Hafenmitarbeiter, Zoll, Polizei als auch wir machen\u00a0Fotos\u00a0von den gesicherten Fahrzeugen, den abgeklemmten Batterien, dem Container und der Containernummer sowie dem angebrachten Siegel. Diese Bilder schicken wir an unsere Agentin Anna. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With that, the container is fully packed, and we can begin our journey home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Invoice and loading papers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the container has been loaded, we receive the invoice for the shipment, along with the link to track our ship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pickup at the Port of Hamburg - Our Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Container, die aus\u00a0S\u00fcdamerika\u00a0ankommen, werden derzeit in den meisten F\u00e4llen\u00a0ger\u00f6ntgt\u00a0\u2013 sch\u00e4tzungsweise bei rund\u00a095 % aller Container aus S\u00fcdamerika ist das Fall. Ob der eigene Container davon betroffen ist, erf\u00e4hrt man erst, wenn das Schiff im Hafen angekommen ist und die Container\u00a0entladen\u00a0wurden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sobald Overlander Shipping informiert ist ob und wann der Container ger\u00f6ntgt wird, teilen sie uns den\u00a0Abholtermin\u00a0mit. Hier ist\u00a0etwas Spontanit\u00e4t\u00a0gefragt. Anschlie\u00dfend geht es direkt\u00a0zum Zoll, der die Fahrzeuge wieder offiziell in\u00a0Europa\u00a0registriert. Eine Fahrzeugkontrolle findet in unsere Fall nicht statt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die\u00a0Zollabwicklung\u00a0dauerte bei uns rund\u00a01,5 Stunden\u00a0und ist damit tats\u00e4chlich der\u00a0l\u00e4ngste \u201eGrenz\u00fcbertritt\u201c\u00a0unserer gesamten Reise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Back in Germany<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nach der Freigabe d\u00fcrfen wir endlich mit unseren\u00a0Campern\u00a0nach Hause fahren.
