About Us

Hi, we are Sarah and Mats. Welcome to our blog, Roadtales. We are glad that you are here!

We share a passion for travel and adventure. And this passion is what we want to share here with you. It all began in 2018 in Kyrgyzstan when we explored the remote roads with an old Russian UAZ and met a small red G-class with German license plates. From that moment on, it was clear: we wanted to experience the same thing!

In November 2023, we swapped our office chairs for car seats and made our dream come true. Our little camper was shipped to South America, and in the coming months, we plan to travel the continent from east to west and from south to north.

3 Facts About Sarah

  • The Camper Chef – She always makes sure that we don't only eat pasta with tomato sauce on our travels.
  • The Photographer – She always has the camera ready since she discovered her interest in photography some time ago.
  • The Route Planner – Though she has no sense of direction, she always knows where the beautiful spots are and where we should go next.

3 Facts about Mats

  • Der Mechanic – He always makes sure that our Trude runs like the first day and takes care of all the maintenance, like oil changes.
  • Der Driver – He safely guides us through the heavy traffic of every big city, every offroad track, and steep switchbacks.
  • Der Technician – He ensures that our power supply works, that clean drinking water comes from our hose, and that we can travel self-sufficiently.

Trude – Our Puch 230GE Offroad Camper

We bought our Trude in Erfurt in 2021. Small but mighty – that’s the best way to describe our Puch. She effortlessly handles every muddy track, and safely carries us over miles of gravel roads and winding mountain slopes. Slow but steady.

In countless hours of work, we spent 2 years converting her into our perfect home for South America.

In 2021, we bought our Trude in Erfurt. Our Puch effortlessly handles every muddy track, gravel road, and winding mountain slope. With careful speed but unwavering reliability. Since the purchase, we have dedicated countless hours to continuously converting her into a perfectly equipped camper. Discover more about our adventures with Trude on Roadtales!
