Absolutely: Yes!
We visited the Reserva Natural Jardín de Rocas in November 2024 and were able to observe several cock-of-the-rocks up close. We didn't have to wait long: when we arrived, numerous birds were sitting in the surrounding trees. In total, we saw about 10 to 12 cock-of-the-rocks in the immediate vicinity, and more were sitting in the surrounding trees a little further away. The birds are so close that you don't need binoculars and can even take relatively good photos with a good phone camera.
Being able to observe so many of these extraordinary birds simultaneously, and especially from just a few meters away, was a very special experience for us and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Colombia.
